NCDMB, Seplat Launch Digital Training Program for Northern Youths

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Seplat Energy Plc and 3logy Limited, has unveiled the National Digitisation Initiative (NDI), a digital empowerment program aimed at youths in Northern Nigeria, with a focus on the North-East and North-West regions.

The initiative seeks to equip young people with essential digital and data analytics skills, preparing them for opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry as well as the wider technology-driven economy.

At the launch, Usman Garba from NCDMB’s Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate encouraged participants to maintain high standards of discipline and professionalism throughout the program.

“This initiative represents a chance for Northern youth to redefine their future,” he said.

“We expect each trainee to demonstrate commitment, responsibility, and the ethics of a true professional representing the NCDMB.”

In his remarks, Nasiruddeen Yakubu, Managing Partner of 3logy Limited, underscored the project’s relevance to regional development.

“Northern Nigeria has an abundance of talent,” he noted.

“What we are doing through the NDI is unlocking that potential — giving our young people the skills and confidence to compete globally through digital literacy, data intelligence, and innovation.”

To promote accountability and effective oversight, NCDMB has established a monthly progress reporting system that connects training centers across the northern states with its headquarters. Class representatives have also been appointed to facilitate communication and maintain professional standards throughout the program.

Through the National Digitisation Initiative, NCDMB, Seplat, and 3logy Limited are nurturing a new generation of digitally skilled Northerners, prepared to drive innovation and contribute to Nigeria’s growing energy and technology sectors.

3logy Limited’s influence in the region has been increasingly recognized. The company was recently awarded the Emerging Generation Tech Firm of the Year 2024 by Tech Unite Africa, highlighting its dedication to bridging the digital divide and equipping young Nigerians with modern skills.

As the implementing partner for the northern zones, 3logy Limited leverages its strong expertise in innovation and tech-driven education to provide participants with practical, hands-on experience using the tools shaping today’s energy and technology landscapes.
